It has been years since the last journal entry

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 7, 2014, 11:54 AM

Hello dearest DeviantArt friends! I'm sure the ones of you that care already follow me on.. Tumblr and/or Youtube! But I'll catch you up to speed here too.

I've been busy for the past 2ish years working on animation, for my youtube channel, and others like Lore and sometimes Machinima. I've always been against the idea of just doing parodies, but I figured, if I'm going to make animation just to practice and improve it might as well be something that will pull in a lot of views.

I like the relationship I have with the Lore channel, so I'll still be doing those videos, but I'm going to take a break from video gamey animation (unless I have some great inspiration to do a short one), and I hope to get to work on my original stuff again. Whether I post it online or not, I haven't really drawn or created anything for myself for a while, and I really want to be a story teller more than anything. Animation is just one way to do that.

Anyhow, I'm also hoping to return to Side Quests, my pride and joy. Jeff, the co-creator, and I have been reworking the script for the next episode! We both have busy schedules so I can't say when it'll be ready. A few months ago I said the same thing, but the script hit a dead end so we dropped it and started over (This new one is infinitely better). Plus, after finishing my Mario&Luigi animation I've got no other projects I need to focus on, so I can put all of my creative powers towards SQ! (Attack on Pikmin 2 was the next animation I was going to work on, but I really was going to do it since people like it and it was popular, the idea is actually kind of lame I think).

As for animating Side Quests.. That will take a great deal of coordination and effort to pull off the way I want. Right now, I just want to tell their stories, and comics are the next best thing.

Groovy to hear it dude, if there is one thing I learned, it is damn important to do fan art to get a fan base (learning that the hard way). I rather stick to Original work all day, but people won't find you that way, plus people will see you being more diverse, for practice you done terrific for yourself =). I'm eager just as anyone else to see your personal projects flourish, so keep it up!

Thanks Adrian 8-)

Yeah I see a lot of really talented people not getting nearly enough attention for their amazing and original work. It's a shame! But thanks again :) also I wish you the best with Candyrag :D I've browsed around a bit, I don't know much about it yet, but what you've got going seems interesting :)

I believe people need to do a bit of both to get noticed a little more haha, which I'll be doing! Sometimes we just have to diversify, not to mention so many silly ideas pop into mind with 3rd party characters, so its fun for a little expression. Thanks a ton bud =), its really groovy to hear it. We are setting sail on an endless voyage haha, I'll be right behind yah though all your works supporting and rooting for yah man, all the very best!

Its always great to see your animations on the Lore channel! I'm excited to see your original content too though :)
It must be difficult for animators to strike a good balance.

Thanks :) It kinda is, depending on the person. I'm still working on the balance, but I'm getting better. It'll be nice to work on something I absolutely love. I mean I enjoy animating the stuff I animate, but working on Side Quests has always been more rewarding to me.
